Summary: The Sr. Civil Engineer is responsible for leading the design of commercial projects within the Oil & Gas & Renewable Energy industries. They lead the planning, design, and development of Engineering project deliverables. They generally assist with the development of project reports and construction documents, to include, but not limited to grading, drainage, roadway, and utilities.

Expected Results in This Role:

Creation of high quality and accurate deliverables on time and under budget
Applying knowledge of permitting regulations to site layout and exhibit creation.
Excellent communication, tracking and organization of assigned projects.

Essential Duties:

Perform engineering calculations and produce engineering drawings on a variety of water resources-related projects
Perform Hydraulic & Hydrologic modeling and engineering (drainage) design, and accurate earthwork calculations
Lead in plan production, writing reports, and presentations. Assist in marketing and business development through high-performance design and other related items
Develop drainage reports, hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, designs, and drawings according to city, town and various municipality specifications
Produce engineering plan sets, specifications, and submit construction documentation packages while using general engineering practices, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal requirements

Competencies:

Understanding of terminology, methods, practices, techniques and nomenclature of survey and civil engineering.
Experience and working knowledge preparing drainage reports, Stormwater Management Plans (SWMP) / Stormwater Management Program Plan (SWMPP)
Experience and working knowledge of Drainage, Grading, Erosion, and Sediment Control permitting process
Experience and working knowledge of Engineering software, to include, but not limited to Hydraflow, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM5
Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
Expert customer focus and strength in providing high-quality customer service

Required Education and Experience:

BS Degree in Civil Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer Certification in Colorado OR ability to apply for reciprocity/comity
5+ years of experience in Civil Engineering
3+ years of experience working Oil & Gas Projects
Working knowledge of Urban Drainage & Flood Control District (UDFCD)/Mile High Flood District (MHFD) Hydrologic and Hydraulic software including CUHP, UD-Culvert, UD-Detention, UD-Inlet, and UD-Rational is preferred
Working knowledge of Urban Storm Drainage Criteria Manual (USDCM) Vol 1, 2 & 3 is preferred
Must have a strong understanding of hydrology and hydraulics
Must have excellent report writing and technical writing abilities
